LT2 Trust – Vision, Mission and Values

Learning Today Leading Tomorrow (LT2) is a multi-academy trust (MAT) based in Rugby. Its founding schools are two start-up free schools:

  • Rugby Free Primary School (RFPS), opened in 2015 and currently has Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year3, Year 4 and Year 5 pupils; 420 pupils at full capacity
  • Rugby Free Secondary School, (RFSS), opened in 2016 and currently has Year 7 Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 pupils; 1260 pupils at full capacity;

The future development and growth of the MAT has always been dependent on the outcome of the existing schools’ first Ofsted inspections. RFPS achieved a Good with Outstanding features judgement in May 2018 and is due to be inspected for a second time in 2021. RFSS was judged as inadequate in Summer 2019 and monitoring by Ofsted and RSC is ongoing. The school received a positive first monitoring visit in December 2019 and re-inspection is expected in 2020-21.


The vision of Learning Today Leading Tomorrow is to build a group of outstanding schools across phases, including specialist provision, to become (a mid-size) trust that provides vibrant and inclusive learning environments in which every member of the learning community is passionate about learning. The trust is led by a CEO who works closely with headteachers who lead the two schools supported by a central team to support finance, HR, estates and governance.


LT2 Trust and schools will have a relentless focus on high achievement, supported by robust organisational structures and governance. We aim to give children and young people in our care the knowledge, skills and experiences to expand their minds and world view to enable them to develop a naturally inquisitive approach to learning and life, fit for an ever-changing world.

Ultimately, we will educate and support all children attending LT2 schools to grow into capable and contributing citizens who have developed the personal attributes and characteristics that will enable them to become considerate, self-reliant and confident young people who are ready for the next stage of their lives. 


The Trust Values underpin the mission and provide the basis on which LT2 schools can articulate the key behavioural characteristics that promote a positive philosophy. Our six values are unseen drivers of our behaviour as experienced by others and are designed to create a shared organisational culture:
